New: Corona time-out for families
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs is now offering families low-cost leave.
For many families, the year and a half of the Covid-19 pandemic has been a difficult time. To help them recover from the consequences of the pandemic, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs is now offering low-cost leave. Families only pay around 10 percent of the costs themselves. You can find out who is eligible and which facilities can be visited here.
The months of the pandemic have pushed many families to their limits. Now the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs is supporting time out to recover. The �Corona time-out for families� program is designed to enable families with low or medium incomes to take a very affordable vacation in family recreation facilities in Germany.
Our parenting advice experts have summarized the most important points:
- Families with low or medium incomes and families with relatives with a disability are eligible. You can find out whether your income is below the limit here.
- Anyone who receives housing benefit, child supplement or similar does not have to undergo a further income check.
- Families only bear around 10 percent of the costs for accommodation and full board.
- Financial support is provided for up to 7 overnight stays for the whole family.
- Families can claim the subsidy twice in total: once in 2021 and once in 2022.
