The childcare center Wolkenzwerge was founded in 2008 in cooperation with Axel Springer SE and is located in the heart of Berlin - high up in the Axel Springer building in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. As a facility close to the company, we offer space for 80 children from the age of two months until they start school. We also have five additional places as part of our back-up care for children up to the age of 12.

Opening hours

We offer needs-based childcare with very flexible hours. The facility is open all year round from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm and is only closed at weekends and on public holidays.

Childcare places 

The 80 childcare places are available not only to employees of Axel Springer SE and other cooperation partners, but also to families from the surrounding area. 

The five places for back-up care can be used by employees of our partner companies who purchase certain quotas from us.

Group structure

The children are cared for in six smaller, age-homogeneous groups, each with a maximum of 16 children. The early service from 7:30 to approx. 8:30 and the late service from approx. 17:00 to 19:30 usually takes place in a selected group across all groups. 

Taster Saturdays

If you and your children would like to get to know our facility, visit us on one of our taster days.

Every first Saturday there are guided tours of our facility for interested parents between 10 am and 12 noon.
