The "Florakinder" offer both reliable regular care and highly flexible company back-up care in emergency and problem situations (e.g. illness of the childminder, closing times of childcare center, short-term professional appointments, lack of vacation care, etc.).
 

Regular care

Care is provided in three separate units with a total of six groups for children from 4 months to the start of school. In the five U3 groups (0-3 years), 10 children play, sing, romp and learn from each other. The kindergarten group is attended by 25 children aged 3 to 6. In their group, your child will meet familiar faces and make their first friends. The aim of our educational concept is to be able to offer childcare that is adapted to the individual needs of working parents and at the same time to meet the needs of the children being cared for to a particular degree. The opening hours of the Florakinder are flexibly geared to the working time models of the parents. It is possible to choose between different childcare packages (25 (U3 only), 35 or 45 hours of childcare per week), provided that the desired package is available. Our core opening hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30 - 18:00.
 

Back-up support

As a supplement to regular care, the "Florakinder" also offer company back-up care to cover the loss of the primary care systems. The back-up care is also aimed at older children up to and including the age of 12. Children can be looked after by us at short notice on an hourly or daily basis. The opening hours are generally based on the needs of the parents.

Our claim

The "Florakinder" work according to the nationwide quality concept of the pme Familienservice and are audited and certified annually. We encourage curiosity and the desire to learn, provide stimulation and enable a variety of play and learning experiences in a safe and child-friendly environment. The children go outside as often as possible and experience nature with all their senses. Experienced and pedagogically qualified caregivers offer reliable and trusting relationships. They accompany the children attentively, take up impulses and support them with their own suggestions in their self-education process. Empathetic understanding, appreciation and acceptance are at the heart of our daily work with the children.

Children with special needs

Not every lily of the valley blooms on May 1st. At Florakinder, children are accepted just as they are. We support each child's development in the best possible way, always taking the child's individual pace into account. For us, it goes without saying that the children's "peculiarities" are accepted as such and that the environment adapts to each child in order to provide optimal conditions for them to grow and thrive. The focus is on the children's abilities and skills - not their deficits. In addition, all children, whether they have difficulties or not, find stimulating play partners and conditions in our heterogeneous groups that are conducive to their educational processes.

Our team

We work with qualified staff, such as nursery school teachers, qualified educationalists, social pedagogues, childhood educators, remedial teachers and nursery nurses. Students of educational disciplines also support our team. Regular team meetings and further training are a natural part of our work.

The "Florakinder" are centrally located and easy to reach. With the office of Familienservice, a pediatrician's practice and our rooms, our house is extremely family- and child-friendly.
 

Our premises

There is plenty to discover, try out and learn in the child-friendly group and side rooms. Our spacious garden of over 1,000 square meters offers plenty of room for young and somewhat older explorers and discoverers. In addition, the flora and the zoo in the immediate vicinity invite exploration. Younger children can rest and recharge their batteries in separate bedrooms.

Child-friendly sanitary facilities and kitchens in each unit are just as much a part of the 600 square meter facility as a creative area and a large multi-purpose and exercise room.

Nutrition

In order for children to develop, they need structures, such as recurring rituals, routines and activities. Meals are also a fixed part of the daily routine. Our food is healthy, fresh, balanced and child-friendly and is prepared by our chef on the premises. As soon as the children no longer need bottle/special food or porridge, they are certainly proud to eat what the others have on their plates. And our older ones bring delicious fruit and vegetables from their weekly visit to the weekly market, which they then try straight away. Or they harvest the strawberries, tomatoes or cucumbers from our garden.

Taster days

Visit the Cologne daycare centers and get to know us. On our regular taster days every 1st Saturday of the month between 10:00 and 14:00, we will be happy to inform you about our work and answer your questions. Please register with us by 6 p.m. on Thursdays so that we can plan enough time for each family.

Internship and year of recognition

In addition, we offer pupils from schools and technical colleges as well as students the opportunity to gain an insight into the exciting work with U3 and Ü3 children as part of an internship or year of recognition.
