Our back-up service - support in exceptional cases

The back-up is located on the premises of Leibniz-Kids. All employees and students of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University have the opportunity to book the back-up in the event of any bottlenecks, from illness of the childminder to bridging important learning and examination phases. Since August 1, 2017, the children of other cooperating companies have also been looked after at Leibniz Kids Back-up outside of the Lower Saxony vacations.

This is a highly flexible and Childcare. The opening hours of the back-up are consistently geared to your needs. This means that your children can be looked after by the hour or day at short notice. Leibniz Universität Hannover also offers support for conferences and public events in institutes and research facilities.

Up to 12 children aged between 2 months and 12 years can be looked after at the Leibniz-Kids Back-up facilities. The back-up care includes a healthy full meal.

A call to the office of Familienservice Hannover or to the nationwide service hotline (0800-801007080) is all it takes to register the child for the day in question. If the telephone booking is made by 6 p.m. the day before at the latest, we guarantee childcare for the following day. 

Our carers: competent, caring and committed

The children are in good hands with us. Experienced, pedagogical specialists offer a reliable framework and respond to the children individually. We meet regularly as a team and take part in further training.

Rooms and equipment: friendly, stimulating, suitable for children

The premises in Herrenhäuser Straße offer around 440 square meters of space for two permanent crèche groups and the back-up, each with their own bedrooms. There is also a large exercise room that encourages a variety of playful activities. The outdoor area of the Leibniz-Kids covers approx. 500 square meters, is designed in a child-friendly way and invites children to discover, move and experiment.

The facility is easily accessible by public transport. The Herrenhäuser Gärten subway station is in the immediate vicinity. Parking is available on site.

Our back-up is available free of charge to employees and all students of our contracted companies.
