What to do if there are gaps in childcare? What to do if the childminder falls ill at short notice or the kindergarten has to close unplanned? What to do if there are vacation days to be bridged or lice are rampant at school?

Working and studying parents know the feeling of not being able to attend regular work or important study or exam dates when the seemingly guaranteed regular childcare is canceled.

To help you reconcile family and studies/work in this difficult situation, Hannover Medical School (MHH) has set up a back-up in building K27 (House A) on the first floor in cooperation with the pme Familienservice .

Since October 2008, emergency childcare for up to 15 children aged between eight weeks and twelve years has been available from 05:45 - 19:00, subject to prior registration.

The costs of childcare are covered by the MHH for the children of employees and students if emergency childcare is required for work or study-related reasons (including weekends).

All MHH employees and students are entitled to 15 days of use per child per calendar year. After consultation with the Equal Opportunities Office, special arrangements can be made for students in examination periods and employees who are new to the MHH.

A call to the office of Familienservice Hannover or to the nationwide service hotline is all it takes to register the child for the day in question. If the telephone booking is made by 6 p.m. the day before at the latest, we guarantee childcare for the following day.
