zero The best companies for families

(Special issue Parents, 11/2016) The magazine ELTERN and the statistics portal statista wanted to know: Who are the most family-friendly employers in Germany in 2016? The pme Familienservice Group was the only company in its sector to achieve full marks in all assessment groups in the "Health and Social Affairs" category.

Young mothers and fathers usually want both: time for the family and success at work. But the balancing act between family life and the office is a challenge: who picks up the child from childcare center at lunchtime if he or she is suddenly ill? What do you do when it's the school vacations but the deadline for an important project is approaching?

Flexible working hours one of the most important criteria for parents

Many employers are aware of this difficult balancing act and support their employees with playrooms in the office, for example. But what really makes a family-friendly job for young mothers and fathers? In a preliminary survey of 18 to 40-year-olds, the magazine ELTERN and the statistics portal statista determined the most important criteria for young mothers and fathers. From June 10 to July 13, 2016, over 19,000 people in Germany asked for their opinion.

The most important criteria include Flexible design of daily working hours, working time accounts, flexible working hourseilzeit with a guarantee to return to full-time work, Pragmatic solutions in emergencies - for example, if the child is ill, - and equal pay for women and men (for the same job).

Based on these survey results, ELTERN and statista awarded a total of 274 employers from 15 sectors. The pme Familienservice Group achieved full marks (4 out of 4 points) in all four direct assessment components (recommendation, work-life balance, organization of working hours, remuneration and career). A total of 35 companies in the "Health and social services" sector were presented as family-friendly companies.

The article on the survey and the top list of the 274 most family-friendly companies in Germany can be found in the November 2016 issue of ELTERN magazine.
