zero ManagerSeminars: Campaign against fat discrimination

Very overweight people have a hard time at work. Not only are they often bullied by colleagues. The discrimination even goes so far that XXL employees are passed over more often than others when it comes to salary bonuses and promotions and that personnel managers are more likely to hire the slim job candidate than the overweight one with the same qualifications. It would be more correct to say: the overweight job candidate. This is because British and Australian scientists found in a study that overweight women in particular are at a disadvantage on the labor market. Alexa Ahmad, Managing Director of the pme Familienservice Group, now wants to launch a campaign to make it clear that professional ability has nothing to do with the number of kilos someone weighs. And she wants to target overweight potential applicants for her company. The campaign will be launched in May 2019 and will run under the hashtag #dickimgeschäft on various social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, as well as on the company's own website and the 'Work:Life Blog'. For example, there are expert interviews and specialist articles on the topic. In addition, overweight testimonials from the company present themselves with tongue-in-cheek slogans far removed from body shaming. Sönke Behrens, psychosocial consultant at pme Familienservice GmbH, for example, confidently declares: 'I am a rock in the surf.
