The shell of the childcare center "EntdeckerWelt" in Lehrte is complete. On August 25 , 2021 , the construction of the new childcare center was toasted at the topping-out ceremony in the presence of Bärbel Springer (client of Lernwelten Immobilienmanagement GmbH), Linda Kiryakos (sponsor representative Global Education gGmbH), Wilhelm Busch (Deputy Mayor of Lehrte), architect Andreas Neuenfeld and Heike Koehler (Chairwoman of the Lehrte Youth Welfare Committee). Laura Duve, head of the kindergarten, Markus Lechelt, Kevin Schiborr and Christopher Adolph also attended the celebrations as representatives of the town of Lehrte.
Adversities in construction progress due to coronavirus crisis
After a tour of the rooms, architect Neuenfeld reported on the current status of the construction work. In their speeches, client Bärbel Springer and Mayor Wilhelm Busch emphasized their delight that construction had progressed so far despite the adverse circumstances caused by the coronavirus crisis. Due to the pandemic, they had to contend with interrupted supply chains and the associated postponements of deadlines, among other things. The absence of employees due to quarantine cases also made the progress of construction considerably more difficult.
Opening of childcare center planned for early 2022
The opening of childcare center in the new development is planned for early 2022. The independent provider is Global Education gGmbH, which, like the client, Lernwelten Immobilienmanagement GmbH, is part of the pme Familienservice Group. In future, 80 children, who are currently cared for in the containerchildcare centers "An der Masch" and "Gartenstraße", will be able to explore, experiment and play together in two kindergarten groups and two crèche groups. In addition to the planned fresh food kitchen, exercise, digital education and social learning are important aspects of the educational concept. Generous rooms will offer the children plenty of space and freedom. The special features of the facility are an extensive indoor area and an outdoor area with plenty of space for movement.
