Life in times of Corona
Suddenly, many things were different. The coronavirus and its spread forced everyone to isolate themselves and avoid social contact. To this day, social distancing is mandatory and face masks must be worn in public spaces.
Our daily, often routine lives have been turned upside down.
But what does all this actually do to our psyche?
We do not know the enemy, we are powerless in the face of him, and he is invisible and intangible. This type of threat triggers feelings in us that can range from fear to sadness and anger.
The constant flood of news and attention on this topic gives us a lot of negative thoughts and feelings that make it difficult to maintain our mental well-being.
Negative feelings can be the following: Insecurity, bewilderment, dejection, powerlessness, fear, panic, loneliness. However, positive feelings such as cohesion, fighting spirit, confidence and solidarity can also occur.
While mentally healthy people often manage to suppress negative feelings and thoughts, mentally stressed people react more sensitively to their feelings.
Feelings of fear, loneliness and uncertainty about the future are normal in the current situation. It's all the nicer when the initial loneliness turns into solidarity, where people go shopping for their neighbors or support those in need with donations, or are simply there for each other.
As a company, we are trying to find new ways to move closer together. Even if we can't be physically close to each other in this current situation, we are trying to create closeness through mutual exchange - be it through Skype calls with the whole family, professional team meetings via online webinar, online childcare programs, etc..
As Familienservice , we have actively taken up this trend of moving closer together and have launched various support options.
In our group coaching sessions, you have the opportunity to exchange ideas on various topics together virtually and feel that you are not alone with the topic.
In the future, too, we will all have to learn to adapt to change, be it through a virus or something similar.
For this reason, we at Familienservice will continue to offer group coaching sessions for mutual exchange in the future.
