On May 16 and 17, 2025, the 17th Child Day Care Congress with Heart and Mind took place. Once again this year, we childminders from GTP Wuselzwerge were delighted to take part in the congress virtually. We were able to take part in two specialist lectures and had the opportunity to further our education in workshops of our choice twice.

The first specialist lecture dealt with the topic of"Attachment-oriented support for children - impulses from brain research", which was very interesting and provided new impulses. The second lecture dealt with the topic of"Doing justice to children in child day care". There was a lively discussion and new approaches were taken up, and we were also able to contribute a lot from our day-to-day childcare work with the other participating childminders from all over Germany.

On Saturday morning, there were two very exciting workshops to choose from:"Non-violent communication in childcare" or"Professionally shaping closeness and distance" - two very important and interesting topics that were very difficult to choose from. In the afternoon, the second workshop block gave participants the opportunity to choose between"Supporting children with special needs" and"Helicopter parents - being overcautious when working together". As is always the case, the small insights in the workshops aroused our interest and provided the first good impulses. Finally, there were two insightful expert impulses on the development of child day care in general and on the creation of a child protection concept in the context of child day care.
