In-service qualification according to the QHB

Since 2019, we have been offering on-the-job training in accordance with the QHB.

Childcare providers in Munich who are currently employed can participate in this on-the-job training program. This continuing education program consists of a total of 140 + 10 class hours (+ 40 hours of self-study) and concludes with an assessment of learning outcomes.

After successful completion, you will receive the certificate according to the competence-oriented quality manual for child day care (QHB) from the Federal Association of Child Day Care.

By participating in the basic qualification accompanying the activity, you can:

  • Expand your existing skill set
  • review and refine the organization and structure of your child care center to further define its unique identity
  • Systematically reflect on your teaching practice
  • gain up-to-date expertise
  • Revise/create your concept
  • brush up on the application of theory to practice
  • exchange ideas and network with colleagues

Our approach is highly skills-based, meaning you bring your practical experience to the table. We combine this with relevant, up-to-date expertise in education, psychology, and law. In addition to the 150 instructional units and to reinforce the content, at least 40 hours are allocated for self-study, during which you will read specialized literature to deepen your understanding, exchange ideas with others (in study groups), maintain your learning journal, and prepare for the learning outcomes assessment. For this purpose, you will prepare a transfer report and revise your concept.

The assessment of learning outcomes at the end of the course consists of two parts. Both parts must be passed in order to receive the certificate. The first part involves submitting a written transfer report (applying the course content to real-life situations) in advance. The second part focuses on dealing with challenging everyday situations. Participants orally analyze a dilemma from their daily lives.

Our course instructors and co-instructors will guide you throughout the training program. Our instructors have experience in adult education and child care. We bring in subject matter experts for specific topics.
