Our Care Navigator Training

Caring for family members is challenging—especially for working people. When a family member needs care, many questions arise. As a certified “ Care navigator ,” you serve as the company’s point person for balancing caregiving and work, raise awareness about the issue, and guide employees and managers to appropriate support services.

Our Homecare-Eldercare team was on the road for a live training session on the “Care Navigator” program. We guided eight employees from various companies through a varied program: small-group work, short keynote presentations, in-depth discussions, and practical role-playing exercises.
We were particularly pleased with how engaged the group was: Many thoughtful questions, concrete examples from everyday work, and creative ideas for building local networks created a very lively atmosphere. In the role-playing exercises, the participants practiced conversation techniques and specific situations with people seeking advice—at first a bit nervous, but ultimately very pleased with the positive feedback and further suggestions from the group.

The topics ranged from one’s own role as a workplace “ Care navigator ” to regulations regarding long-term care insurance and care leave, as well as dementia and children in need of care, all the way to powers of attorney and advance directives. Time flew by, and by the end, we were all certain that the participants left the training with greater confidence and many practical ideas they could use to provide tangible support to their colleagues in the future.
