Impulse: Learning to read with joy

Topic:

The international IGLU study published in 2023 proves that Pupils in Year 4 are reading worse than they were 5 years ago. A quarter of children do not reach the internationally defined minimum standard in reading that would be necessary for further successful learning. No wonder, given that books are increasingly competing with digital media, which require significantly less concentration and at the same time appeal to the brain's reward system.

Supporting children in learning to read can therefore not only be the task of schools, the home is a decisive factor. Find out in this short talk what you can do as a parent to help your children enjoy reading from the very beginning and give them a key to a world full of imagination and knowledge.
