Gaming for children and young people: Danger or opportunity?
While video game culture was still a niche phenomenon 20 years ago, it is now fully integrated into society and ubiquitous. The companies behind these games have also adapted their marketing strategies, primarily targeting children and teenagers. As a result, this is an issue that often catches many parents off guard.
This lecture aims to provide information and foster understanding of the topic of "video games." From old prejudices to scientific findings—such as attention span, the FOMO principle in some games, or even gambling addiction—we will focus entirely on media education and how parents can more easily address this complex topic. Examples and practical tips will be provided to help teenagers, among others, reflect on their own behavior.
