Smooth Beginnings - Helping Your Child Transition to Day-Care

The transition from family to a day-care center is big step for children, especially in their first 3 years, and it can also be a moving time for parents. Many of the family's established habits change, the child begins to go its own way and new relationships enter into the family sys-tem. This transitional period of changes can be accompanied by many questions: What can I do to make my child feel comfortable in external care? How will they react when I leave them and what emotions might I experience myself in this situation?
This webinar will provide you with clues as to which developmental psychology and attachment theory concepts can support you and your child during this time. You will learn about some of the settling-in models practised at our day-care facilities and how these make a significant contribution to a settling-in period that is tailored according to the child's needs.
