Family care: there for you in an emergency
If a parent who looks after the household and children has to go to hospital or rehab, families with children under the age of 12 who have statutory health insurance are entitled to a home help or family carer.
The substitute health insurance fund usually covers the costs in accordance with § 38 SGB V.
We have the option of settling directly with the substitute health insurance companies and providing you with a home help or family caregiver. For example, they will look after the children and ensure that they can attend school or nursery and take care of the household (shopping, cooking, household maintenance, laundry).
