Fresh and lively under the Christmas tree
Stomach pinching, mood waning? Three tips for more energy and fun during the holidays.
1. give your stomach a rest
Christmas is traditionally a time for culinary delights. And you are allowed to indulge in them. On the other hand, constant gorging is just as superfluous as it is unhealthy. Our tip: get rid of the plate of cookies and only eat at mealtimes. And not every meal has to be sumptuous: For example, deliberately keep breakfast light with fresh fruit and muesli, then you'll have more room for roast, dumplings and dessert later on.
2. close your ears - and smile!
Uncle Werner tells the same dull joke again? Aunt Helga asks for the twentieth time what your son is actually studying? And your mother is picking on your children's hairstyles and clothes as she does every year? What regularly gets on our nerves is often not meant in a bad way. Our tip: simply smile away any minor annoyances and occasionally turn your ears to silent mode.
3. get out into the air and move
Christmas is a time for sitting: we sit on the sofa while eating, watching a Christmas movie or chatting. In the long run, this makes us tired and exhausted. So plan an outdoor exercise session whatever the weather, at least one long walk a day. If you have children with you, activities such as ice skating, sledging or a short game of soccer on the grass are ideal.
