Beate Catalkaya is the childcare worker of the year
We at pme Familienservice believe that this kind of commitment deserves special recognition. To raise awareness of this demanding but unfortunately often undervalued job, we launched the Childcare Worker of the Year award in 2013. This year's winner is Beate Catalkaya, who works for family B. in Gauting near Munich. pme consultant Alicja Ehgartner visited the family, presented them with flowers and a gift voucher and was delighted with them.
Finding a more relaxed life again with the help of Ms. Catalkaya
"She is an incredibly helpful and warm-hearted person! There is no better nanny - she has to win your competition," wrote Ms. B. in the reason for her nomination. "Because she is a nanny for us, but also a pastor, cook, housekeeper, homework supervisor, pet sitter, driver, nurse, gardener and I don't know what else."
Everyday life for the B. family is demanding. The family has two children, aged five and nine. In addition to the demanding everyday life with family and job, there were always stressful situations. Since Ms. Catalkaya arrived, the situation has taken a positive turn. "Our whole family has gained in quality of life," says Mrs. B. "We're more relaxed and happier because Ms Catalkaya lends a hand where necessary and takes many tasks off our hands. This leaves more time for fun things and activities together and the children are happy to have more time at home because Mrs. Catalkaya picks them up from childcare in the early afternoon.
About the "Childminder of the Year" competition
With this award, we would like to express our appreciation to the childcare workers. After all, they invest a lot of time and passion in the care and upbringing of the children. For example, they become surrogate grandparents and share moments of their life stories with the children. With the annual "Childminder of the Year" award, we want to raise awareness of a demanding job and draw attention to the support that childcare provides for many families.
