Spontaneous relaxation at the workplace

The phone won't stop ringing, the next deadline is breathing down your neck, and at the same time five more to-do's have to be done immediately. Your pulse begins to race, you start sweating profusely and you already know that the next small deviation will cause you to jump from zero to 100. Finally, panic sets in. For a brief moment, you just want to cry or drop everything.

To get out of this extreme strain on your body and soul, it is important that you quickly return to the ground of relaxation. With this exercise, you can do this in just a few minutes.

Immediate help with spontaneous relaxation

And this is how it works:

  1. Close your eyes, concentrate on yourself and breathe in a little deeper than usual.
  2. Breathe out again in one movement, i.e. without holding your breath after inhaling.
  3. When you have exhaled, hold your breath for about six to ten seconds, counting in your mind from 1001 to 1006 or 1010. Find out for yourself which time is most comfortable for you.
  4. After holding your breath, inhale again, exhale in one movement (without holding your breath) and then hold it for another six to ten seconds.

Now repeat this breathing exercise for a few minutes or until you are much more relaxed and calm.
