Book tips for the nationwide reading aloud day
November 19 is nationwide Read Aloud Day! Thousands of children between the ages of 0 and 6 have been looking forward to this day for a long time. Today, old favorite books are brought out or brand new works are learned to love.
In our facilities, too, the children listen to the latest stories, experience adventures with their book heroes from other worlds and share funny, exciting and sad moments together.
Especially for this day, we asked children's book expert Rebecca from the wonderful Buchbox in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg to introduce us to her favorites for this year's Read Aloud Day motto "Friendship and Cohesion". And here are her five favorites. Rating: Absolutely worth reading!
1. together by Daniela Kulot
A funny book in heels about friendship and tolerance. Doing things together is much more fun than doing them alone. No matter how different the people are. The illustrations are an extra bonus.
"Together" by Daniela Kulot is published by Gerstenberg. From 2 years.
2. "Be strong, don't get angry" by Eleonora Fornasari
Some children stand at the side of the group and are teased. That's not cool. This book shows fairytale heroes who don't let themselves be bullied and cleverly defend their boundaries. A book that strengthens and encourages from White Star Verlag. Ages 6 and up.
3. "Two for me, one for you" by Jörg Mühle
Weasel and bear want to share the food. Which is a bit difficult with odd numbers. Will they find a solution? I like that this book explains the topic of sharing and giving in a very nice way. Justice can be learned.
"Two for me, one for you" by Jörg Mühle is published by Moritz Verlag. Ages 4 and up.
4. "Hello Boss" by Chris Chatterton
Chris Chatterton has published "Hello Boss", a great book about friendship, with Magellan Verlag. In this case about the friendship between two very different dogs. I recommend the book for children who want to realize that differences are often an enrichment. Ages 4 and up.
5. "Best Friends" by Linda Sarah
It's actually three books in one. On the one hand, it's a great friendship story: can it work when a third child joins a harmonious friendship of two? Secondly, the illustrations are simply stunning: harmonious and decelerating. And thirdly, the illustrator masterfully manages to make the closeness or distance between the characters tangible. The book is published by Aladin Verlag. From 4 years.
