
What's new with minimum wage, mini-jobs and midi-jobs
Interesting for employers and employees in private households: The regulations on mini and midi jobs will change on October 1, 2022.
What's changing with the mini-job
The new maximum earnings limit is 520 euros per month or 6240 euros per year. A maximum monthly income of 1040 euros is possible twice a year if the increased income is "occasional" or "unforeseeable". This raises the annual earnings limit to 7,280 euros.
The maximum working time in a mini-job with a minimum wage of 12 euros is 43.33 hours per month, i.e. 10 hours per week.

What is a mini-job?
Anyone who earns an average of up to 520 euros per month or is only employed for a short period of time is considered a mini-jobber.
What changes with the midi job
The earnings limit for a midi job will be 1,600 euros from October 1, 2022. The breakdown of employer and employee contributions has changed. In short, employers will have to contribute more than before, while employees will have to contribute less.

What is a midi job?
An employee is considered to have a midi job if he or she is not only employed on a short-term basis and earns an average of between EUR 520 and EUR 1,600 per month.
