Sustainable Consumption

Mindful shopping instead of a material frenzy: In our “ childcare centers ,” we use durable toys and furniture. We provide the children with natural materials and everyday objects such as stones, leaves, pinecones, and cardboard tubes.

Trash Collection & Recycling

We care about what happens to our trash: Even our youngest children learn here which items go in which bin so that valuable materials can be reused.

Reusable Instead of Disposable

Once is never enough: At our “ childcare centers ,” we don’t use disposable tableware or plastic bags, and we use reusable tableware even at parties and on outings. For wet clothes and cloth diapers, we use sustainable wet bags.

Nature Experiences with Children

Discovering Nature Through Play: To help children develop an appreciation for nature, we use our outdoor space and/or go to the park or the woods. We observe insects and animals in their natural habitats, explore our own raised garden bed to see where vegetables come from, and introduce children to nature through various projects.

Quality Food—Seasonal, Local, Fair Trade

Not only is our food delicious, but we also prioritize sustainability in our catering: We give preference to regional and seasonal ingredients—often organic—and strive to minimize waste. In doing so, we adhere to the standards set by the German Nutrition Society (DGE).

App Instead of Paper

Thanks to our parent app, we stay in close contact with parents—all without using any paper. Whether it’s information about their child’s day, sign-ups and cancellations, or invitations—parents receive all of this easily on their smartphones.

Traveling Sustainably

Through job tickets and the Jobrad program, we help our employees commute to work in an environmentally friendly way. We take trips using public transportation or on foot.
