Parent Survey on Emergency Child Care: Friendly and Child-Friendly

How satisfied are parents with our short-term child care (backup care)? The results of the parent survey show that our emergency child care is perceived as friendly, straightforward, and child-friendly.

When the childcare center is childcare center , the child care provider is sick, or a work commitment comes up at the last minute, families need a reliable childcare solution.

Our emergency childcare service, also known as backup childcare, provides employees of our client companies with short-term and flexible childcare in such situations.

In the second quarter of 2026, we asked parents about their experiences with our emergency childcare facilities. The responses indicate a very high level of satisfaction with the welcome, the atmosphere, the registration process, and the children’s well-being.

Key Findings from the Parent Survey

  • 100% of parents confirmed that they and their child were welcomed warmly.
  • 97.1% said their child felt comfortable in emergency care.
  • 100% rated the atmosphere at the facility as pleasant.
  • 99.1% were satisfied with the smooth registration process.
  • 99.7% believe it is important for their employer to offer this type of childcare solution.

The survey thus confirms that parents find our emergency childcare to be accessible, well-organized, and tailored to their children’s needs.

What makes parents choose our emergency childcare?

In addition to the provided response options, parents were able to offer their own feedback. The most frequently mentioned points were the friendly care, the straightforward organization, the educational programs, and the sense of comfort parents feel when leaving their children in our care.

"The field trips are great, and the teaching staff is very friendly. They create an inclusive atmosphere."
Vera Schneider

"The kid was absolutely thrilled with the time he spent there."

"It's really easy to sign up for this program, and our child feels well taken care of there."
M. Schubert

"Perfect organization, efficient communication, and friendliness."

The feedback shows that it is not only the care itself but also the processes surrounding registration and communication that are important to families.

How does emergency childcare work?

Our emergency childcare service is available to employees of client companies that have a contract with us. It provides short-term and flexible care for children from under one year of age up to and including twelve years of age.
Childcare may be necessary, for example, if:

  • the childcare center is closed childcare center holidays, illness, or a last-minute closure,
  • if the child care provider gets sick,
  • Parents go on a business trip,
  • if you have a last-minute work commitment, need someone to cover for you while you're on vacation, or have a seminar coming up,
  • another scheduled childcare arrangement is unexpectedly canceled.

The care teams adapt their approach daily to the group’s composition. Age-appropriate activities, reliable routines, and a supportive atmosphere ensure that children feel at home and experience their day at the center as a positive one.

Quality Through Professional Standards and Clear Processes

The results of the parent survey are an important part of our quality management process. We use this feedback to identify what families value most and where we can further improve our programs.

Every piece of feedback is reviewed at the respective emergency care center and incorporated into the established improvement process. In addition, we support our educational teams through defined quality standards, regular professional exchanges, training, and professional guidance.

“In our emergency childcare facilities, children find a sense of security while also receiving age-appropriate stimulation. Our goal is to provide children with playful learning experiences and to give parents some relief. We train and support our educational teams through high-quality standards, defined processes, and regular professional exchanges. This is how we ensure quality, fun, and flexibility in our facilities.” Annika Weißhuhn, Backup Director

Child-Centered Care

Children under one year of age have different needs than preschoolers or 12-year-old schoolchildren. That is why our care teams make sure the daily schedule is age-appropriate and tailored to each child’s individual situation.

The focus is on:

  • a warm and welcoming reception,
  • a child-friendly transition into the group,
  • age-appropriate play and activity options,
  • an inclusive and supportive atmosphere,
  • clear communication with parents,
  • Flexible care when needs change on short notice.

The high level of approval in the parent survey shows that families find this combination of flexibility, personal attention, and structured processes to be helpful.
