Shaping, supporting, strengthening—A toast to educators

Text: Eva Lutter, central childcare center, pme Familienservice

"Children sense who believes in them" – and you are exactly those people: you provide support, encourage curiosity, and accompany children through one of the most formative phases of their lives. You create spaces where children can grow, discover, learn, and feel safe. In doing so, you combine educational expertise, emotional strength, specialist knowledge, and personal attitude in a very special way.
Despite your central importance to society, your profession is far too often underestimated. We want to show you our special appreciation and demonstrate how diverse, demanding, and valuable your work is.

You are education architects

Authentic and unconditional appreciation—that is at the heart of your educational approach. You treat children without expectations of performance or conformity and accept them for their uniqueness. Children are allowed to be themselves with you. This appreciative attitude strengthens their self-esteem and gives them emotional security—a key prerequisite for successful learning and healthy development.

"Thank you for accompanying our children with such responsibility and dedication, strengthening their self-image and potential. At the same time, you carry out your work with such ease and enthusiasm. In doing so, you are laying the foundation for the children to lead happy and contented lives as adults."Marita Rößler, Head of Management, Württemberg Daycare Centers, pme Familienservice

You open up horizons

Children are naturally curious. They want to understand, explore, question, and discover the world. You accompany them on their learning journeys and encourage them to pursue their own ideas. In childcare center, you open up new horizons: you provide inspiration, accompany processes, and create educational opportunities where children can connect with their environment through exploration, feeling, and creativity.

In the garden, with your guidance, a seemingly inconspicuous piece of earth becomes a field of research: a child examines the ground with a magnifying glass, captures details photographically, and reveals the fine structures of a leaf to the group. Curiosity turns into shared amazement, observation into shared knowledge.

Children transform the group room into a small town: they build houses, tunnels, and forts with pillows, blankets, and cushions. You take the children's ideas on board, support them with suggestions, and enable them to try out their own building projects. This constructive play creates diverse play worlds that specifically promote the children's creativity and problem-solving skills.

Partnership on equal terms: working hand in hand with families

You are at the heart of family life. You listen, exchange ideas, and are reliable partners to parents. Step by step, trust and a strong sense of togetherness grow, accompanying and strengthening children on their way to adulthood and giving them space to develop.

Full steam ahead as a team

Your educational work is teamwork. You support each other, exchange ideas, and develop shared visions. Your different experiences and perspectives complement each other and enrich your daily work.

Within the team, tasks can be shared, challenges reflected upon, and solutions developed together. An open team culture not only promotes the quality of your educational work, but also strengthens the personal satisfaction and resilience of your employees.

"Educators give children emotional security, recognize their strengths, and create stimulating living environments. In doing so, they shape not only individual lives, but also the society of tomorrow." Stefanie Frank, educational specialist and team leader, pme Familienservice

You are the shapers of the future

Your profession is multifaceted, demanding, and indispensable. It requires expertise, attitude, emotional strength, and a willingness to develop personally. When you support children with empathy, openness, and appreciation, you make a decisive contribution to their future.
You shape educational processes, strengthen children's personalities, and create safe spaces for development. This work deserves recognition, respect, and appreciation.

Thank you very much for everything you do every day!

"You are indispensable because you attentively guide children in their development, professionally design educational processes, and give them security, orientation, and confidence. Every day, you lay the foundations for equal opportunities, social skills, and lifelong learning. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to you for your professionalism, your attitude, your patience, and your great commitment—especially in challenging times." Sarah Raupach, Authorized Signatory & Responsible for thechildcare centers North Rhine-Westphalia NORTH

Self-care as a professional duty

Your job is emotionally demanding. To stay healthy and capable of working in the long term, self-care is not a luxury but a professional necessity. This includes being mindful of your own energy levels.

Resilience enhancers play an important role in this: social support within the team, experiencing meaningfulness, positive feedback, and awareness of one's own effectiveness. When you are aware of your strengths and recognize your successes, you are better able to overcome challenges.
pme supports you in this: we design our facilities so that you feel comfortable, can develop further, and enjoy coming to work. Health and counseling services as well as benefits such as free meals, a job bike, and fitness programs help you stay healthy. Kiko provides you with professional support through sound educational concepts that offer guidance in childcare center and address the topic of health.
