Episode 22: Cancer in the family

A cancer diagnosis also changes the lives of relatives, partners and friends. How can relatives help? And how can they take good care of themselves? Podcast host Olli Schmidt talks about this with Michael Kunkel, systemic consultant and life coach.

Relatives who support sick family members can reach their limits. "It is a time of enormous psychological stress. Open communication, both with the sick family member and within the family itself, is crucial," says Michael Kunkel.

Michael Kunkel works as a life coach at pme Familienservice , advising Familienservice in difficult life situations. He himself was the partner of someone with cancer and knows all about the challenges that the disease brings.
